Lean N Green 2008

Shasta CAN (Coalition for Activity and Nutrition) and Healthy Shasta held their annual Lean-N- Green day with a walk through “My Pyramid”.
The Fruit booth was coordinated by Ingra Smith and Shawna Holt from UC Cooperative Extension Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program, with volunteer help from Shasta High School Student, Kortney Holt. That group passed out a variety of fruits to the children and adults that came through their booth and educated participants on the importance of a variety of fruits and vegetables. They also utilized the 5 a day wheel and game to help participants answer questions about healthy fruit and vegetable choices.
